In class today I got this awesome idea for a short story. Unfortunately my brain didn’t allow me to write it. At least I was able to make a poem.
(Math really does destroy your ability to form nice sentences 😦 )
I hope you like it 😉
Thou and I are one,
I’m a part of thy
but thou ain’t one of mine.
When I start to wake
thou lose thy sight,
thy touch, thy smell,
I arm myself for the battle.
The battle that is bound to come.
The fight for peace, rest
While I battle thy demons,
thy fear and thy yearning
thou lie in rest.
Saving thy powers for the final struggle.
Thou yearn for the surface.
We both strive towards reality.
But unlike thou who reaches thy destination
I stay behind and guard thy back
while thou try to reach salvation.
I will wait for thy return,
to fight the endless battle again and again.
Until you tire and cannot escape anymore.
So tell me now: Who might I be?
(P.S.: You might have noticed that I tried to use thou and thy instead of you and your/yours. Does it sound strange?)
